English at Our School –
The Best of Both Worlds
We offer our students a unique opportunity to develop their English skills. By combining the Swedish curriculum with the internationally recognized Cambridge English curriculum from grades 1 to 9, we create a secure and stimulating language environment.
Our Cambridge English program is well established at the school and globally renowned for its high quality.
How We Work from Lower to Upper Primary and Secondary School
Early Start and Extended Timetable: The foundation for a new language is best laid at a young age. Therefore, we have an expanded timetable in English with extra time allocated during the younger years. As students grow older and have built their linguistic foundation, the hours are gradually reduced.
Annual Progression Tests: To track each student's development and ensure they are making progress, we conduct annual Progression Tests. This helps us adapt our teaching to the students' needs.
IGCSE Examination in Grade 9: In grade 9, students take a Cambridge IGCSE examination in English. This provides concrete proof of their language proficiency according to international standards.
Extra Opportunity in Mathematics (IGCSE)
For students who wish to obtain an international qualification in mathematics as well, we offer a Cambridge IGCSE examination in mathematics in grade 9.
Students who choose this option receive one extra hour of mathematics lessons per week throughout lower secondary school, where instruction is entirely focused on the Cambridge mathematics curriculum.
The Benefits of a Cambridge Qualification
A Cambridge qualification gives our students strong competitive advantages for the future:
International Educational Opportunities: The certificate facilitates admission to upper secondary schools, universities, and language schools worldwide.
Meritorious for the Job Market: Cambridge diplomas are recognized by employers globally and strengthen the student's future career prospects.
Practical Language Skills: The instruction and exams focus on comprehensive language use, enabling students to become confident in communicating effectively in real, everyday, and academic situations.
